Alia Bhatt Did Not Turn Me Down, I Never Approached Her: Sujoy Ghosh
Alia Bhatt is on every director’s wish-list these days after delivering back-to-back hits, including the latest Badrinath Ki Dulhania.
And the latest buzz in town was that the young actress has become very selective and had turned down a role offered to her by Sujoy Ghosh, who gave us Kahaani and Kahaani 2.

The reports claimed that after Vidya Balan starrer Kahaani 2 failed to set the box-office on fire, Sujoy was desperate t o deliver a hit and wanted to cast Alia, who has a stellar box-office record.  The actress was excited to work with Sujoy but reportedly declined the offer when she heard the script.

But Sujoy told us a completely different story when we contacted him. The filmmaker maintained that he had never approached Alia with a script. He was baffled and somewhat angry about the consistent rumours about him being turned down by Alia Bhatt.

“Forget about Alia saying No. I have not approached Alia with a script in the first place. I don’t know where did this come from,” he told SpotboyE.com.

Sujoy maintained that he is focusing all his energy on just one project, Anukul, a short film that will be based on a story by legendary filmmaker Satyajit Ray.

The story of Anukul begins with a well-to-do Bengali man buying a humanoid robot as a housekeeper, and then goes on to explore how his relationship with this ‘man’ changes.
